Training for Education

Dr. John G. Hibben - minister, philosopher, and educator once said
"Education is the ability to meet life's situations"
Indeed, in order for employers to abide by laws, best practices, and other requirements, an effective system for training is necessary for workers, supervisors, and managers to know the requirements, and to understand why they are necessary.

PandRS offers a wide variety of training topics including:

Violence, Harassment & Sexual Harassment Prevention

Provincial and Federal statutes and regulations require information and instruction be provided to workplace parties to know and understand the elements of the company's violence, harassment, and sexual harassment policies and programs.

PandRS has years of experience providing customized V & H training, including:

  • Policy and program information
  • Response to harassment and sexual harassment
  • Reporting and investigating
  • Role playing harassment scenarios
  • Emergency response to violence

Due Diligence for Supervisors

In most organizations, supervisors and group leaders are indispensable to the overall success of their business. By law, they also have a long list of responsibilities for health and safety.

An investment in training for these essential personnel is a good investment for your business.

PandRS provides customized training for supervisors and group leaders to understand workplace health and safety rights, responsibilities, and equip them with practical tools to build and achieve due diligence.

Substance Use / Fit For Duty

Training content is customized to the substance use / fit for duty program.

Scenarios can be used to help participants relate to and understand program requirements and responsibilities of workplace parties.

Advanced training for supervisors and managers can provide additional information for symptom recognition, testing programs (if applicable), substance use as a disability, and requirements of human rights codes.

Safe Lifting Awareness

Through simple illustrations and demonstrations, participants learn practical safe lifting techniques that reduce damaging compression forces on vertebrea and discs of the spinal column.

The short safe lifting topic is commonly integrated into other training topics such as workplace health and safety rules.

Workplace Hazardous Materials Training

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) underwent significant changes when it was aligned to the Global Harmonized System in 2015.

Workers who may be exposed to hazardous substances are required to be trained in the WHMIS-2015 system, so they can recognize hazardous substances, learn more about their specific hazards, and understand how to use them safely in the workplace.

PandRS customizes WHMIS training to the client, so that participants better relate to and understand the message.. A short quiz after training helps to ensure that participants understand key concepts.

Respirator Care and Use

When workers are exposed to hazardous airborne substances, respirators provide the last line of defense against overexposure.

Effective training for respirator use requires participants to understand the nature of their hazards, how a chosen respirator and cartridge captures substances, and the limitations of respirators.

Hands-on training ensures that participants learn how to achieve, test, and maintain a proper face seal, know how to care for, clean, and inspect respirators, and when to replace cartridges and filters.

After training, fit testing is recommended for all personnel who are required to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
